A Sellwood neighborhood pub

The Vision

This stretch of SE Bybee Boulevard has been a Sellwood gathering place for two decades. In 2024, Brandon and Rob took over with one goal: honor what made this pub special while building something even better. Not a trendy rebrand that erases the past, but a fresh start rooted in the same neighborhood spirit — the kind of pub where regulars know each other by name and first-timers feel like they've been coming for years.

The food matters. Every item on the menu is curated to deliver a real pub experience — not the same tired gastropub formula you'll find everywhere else. Familiar enough to feel like home, yet carefully crafted to keep things interesting. That's the line we walk, and we think we nail it.

Reborn as The Oaks Pub, the doors are open every day for families, friends, and anyone in Portland's Sellwood-Moreland community and beyond looking for great food, cold drinks, and good company.

Home of the Tachos

Back in 2006, at this very spot on Bybee Boulevard, tater tot nachos were born. Crispy tots loaded with melted cheese, house-made toppings, and the kind of flavors that keep people coming back. What started as a menu experiment became a Portland legend — and the dish that put this pub on the map.

The Tachos have been featured in The Oregonian, Eater, The Takeout, and more. When Brandon and Rob took over in 2024, keeping the Tachos was never a question. Every plate is still made fresh, piled high, and meant to be shared. We're proud to carry the legacy of the dish that started it all.
